ExpertBooks are the best laptops that are customized for business users.
ASUS ExpertBook B5 Flip is a versatile representative of the ExpertBook series , which is primarily aimed at business users. However, these laptops offer features that can be attractive to regular users , which I also appreciated while using the ExpertBook B5 Flip.
The ExpertBook B5 Flip is a 13.3-inch convertible notebook. It has an aluminum construction , and although the design is relatively inconspicuous, it is elegant. The keyboard area is made of an alloy of magnesium and aluminum. I appreciate the low weight of the laptop at only 1.25 kg and also its convertibility. Thanks to it, it is possible to use the device in various modes, as you can see in the photos.
The ASUS ExpertBook B5 Flip is only 16.9 mm thick and has military durability. In practice, this means that it meets the standards of advanced durability in terms of tests of falls from a height of 1.2 m, keyboard pouring up to 66 cm3 and also has improved resistance of hinges and ports. It is clear that ASUS wants to appeal to business users in particular with these parameters, but increased resilience is an added value that benefits all users . Twice if you carry a laptop with you at all times.
The fact is that the combination of low thickness and weight, convertibility and advanced durability are among the main advantages of the ASUS ExpertBook B5 Flip and it is one of the main reasons why I would consider buying this laptop.

Matte display and speakers with Dolby Atmos

The ExpertBook B5 Flip has a Full HD display , a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a 16: 9 aspect ratio. The configuration I tested had an IPS display that is tactile and matte with anti-glare protection , which increases the comfort of use in some conditions. In use, the light reflections bothered me significantly less compared to the glossy display. ASUS also sells this notebook in a version with an OLED display.
As part of the testing, I measured a maximum brightness of almost 320 rivets and a sRGB color space coverage of 96.2%. The notebook is therefore suitable for versatile use, office work and also basic work with multimedia . It is also good for watching videos and playing less graphics-intensive games. The tent mode is ideal for playing, in which case an optimal hot air outlet is ensured.
I rate the sound reproduction as good , but I would appreciate the higher maximum volume. I often used a laptop at gaming, multimedia and video conferencing with a volume of 100%, respectively. with almost maximum volume and it was enough for me. So I would use a slightly higher volume. There is also support for Dolby Atmos.
Comfortable keyboard and touchpad with numeric keypad

The keyboard has a higher lift than I’m used to from several other laptops. I didn’t mind, I wrote great on it. I got used to the keyboard very quickly and I also appreciate the small details, such as the protrusions that prevent the keyboard from being pushed on the display. I also praise the cutout on the touchpad for more convenient lid opening.
These are details, but they will be pleased because they add value . Such a detail is the fact that when the lid is opened, the keyboard automatically raises slightly for more comfortable typing . And you’ll be pleased with the light next to the ExpertBook sign at the age, which clearly signals if you’re attending a video conference.
There is a keyboard backlight that you can turn on and off. There are also function keys that you can use to adjust the volume, quickly turn off the microphone or webcam. I consider this to be the standard in this segment.
The touchpad is not one of the largest on the market, but it is large enough and its quality is rated as good. It will be pleased with the built-in ASUS NumberPad feature, which allows you to turn the touchpad into a touch numeric keypad . It’s a feature you may not use, but some users will get used to it and like it. Please note that if you have a Slovak keyboard set up in Windows , the% and = buttons on NumberPad will not work correctly. It didn’t limit me, as I used this function practically only to enter numbers, but it can hinder someone. The solution is to add an English keyboard to Windows and switch to it.
Above standard port equipment

Expertbook B5 Flip has above-standard port equipment . There are two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support – these allow you to transfer video up to 4K, data up to 40 Gbps and power. The micro HDMI port is also equipped, and thanks to the included adapter, you can also connect an Ethernet cable to the notebook.
There is also an HDMI 2.0b port , so you can connect your laptop to up to three 4K monitors in parallel. The port equipment is closed by a standard USB type A port and a 3.5 mm jack. There is also a Kensington lock, but you would be looking for a memory card reader unnecessarily. The power button on the side edge has a built-in fingerprint sensor, and there is also a physical cover that you can use to cover the webcam when you’re not using it. You can also turn off the webcam software. And in terms of security features, there is also a TPM 2.0 module and password protection when booting into the BIOS, as well as securing storage on the computer.
Stamina and stability will please
I tested the ExpertBook B5 Flip in a configuration with an Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor , an integrated graphics card, 16 GB of RAM in a single-channel connection and 1 TB of NVMe storage. You can find the results of tests from several applications in the table at the end of the article . The notebook offers standard performance for everyday office work and versatile use. The built-in graphics card can also handle less graphically demanding games.
During my testing, the notebook lasted almost 11.5 hours of working use at half the brightness setting, resp. almost 10.5 hours of video watching at maximum brightness. It’s a good result. I also praise the stability of the laptop during operation . The temperatures in the load reached 90 degrees for a short time, but quickly stabilized at 80 degrees. In normal use, processor temperatures were up to 60 degrees Celsius. The noise of the laptop under load is relatively low , although in the short term it is more noticeable in some situations. There is also a quiet mode , where processor temperatures do not exceed 65 degrees Celsius. In this case, the notebook works with less power, but it is really quiet. You can change the performance mode in the MyASUS application, which brings an above-standard number of settings and functions.
MyASUS offers useful features and advanced smartphone connectivity
If you purchase an ExpertBook or other notebook from ASUS, I recommend that you examine the MyASUS software in detail . In the case of the ExpertBook, it allows you to change the color temperature of the display, activate the eye-saving mode, when the blue light is dimmed, and also play with functions that use artificial intelligence to dampen incoming and outgoing sound . This is useful during audio calls and video conferencing. This function can also be quickly switched on and off using the function key.
With MyASUS, you can enjoy an advanced smartphone connection ( Android and iPhone ) to move files between your laptop and phone, view notifications, make calls ( using your smartphone ) via your laptop, or use your smartphone as a laptop webcam. The built-in webcam offers 720p resolution and is sufficient for regular video calls.
You can also display the screen of your mobile device on the laptop screen or vice versa – extend the laptop screen to the screen of your smartphone or tablet . The Expertbook is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and you can also improve this function via MyASUS, resp. optimize. ASUS Business Manager is designed to improve laptop security. A included 65W USB-C charger with quick charge function is also available . It charges 60% of the battery in 40 minutes.
Conclusion
ASUS ExpertBook B5 Flip is a lightweight, versatile, durable and powerful notebook . It will impress with its excellent and practical combination of low weight, convertibility and the associated higher versatility and advanced durability . And it is these features that make the ExpertBook B5 Flip a great notebook, whether we consider ourselves a business or not.
The ExpertBook B5 Flip also offers functional and powerful equipment for everyday use and office work. And if you don’t need a specialized laptop for a creative robot or gaming, then this device will suit you. I was pleased with the ExpertBook B5 Flip during testing and I recommend it .
